Our Story
Our story began in 2002, with the launch of our sister company, Atlanta Pediatric Therapy. George Rosero created the practice to provide home health services to children. APT provided speech, occupational, and physical therapists to homes and daycare centers. In 2008, APT opened its first clinic, where the majority of our therapy appointments now take place. After 16 years of working with children in their homes and in our clinic, we identified the need for better quality therapeutic services in public schools. In 2018 we created Applied Pediatrics to meet this need.
When children receive consistent care, we see real progress. If a child receives quality care at home or a clinic but not at school, it can hinder that progress. However, schools often can not find the healthcare providers they need. That’s where Applied Pediatrics comes in. We recruit the best providers (speech language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, etc.) and place them in the right schools. We are able to do so because of the strong relationships we build within the public school system. Put simply, schools trust AP to provide quality services for their students.
This trust is not possible without excellent healthcare providers who are comfortable with their placements. We get to know each of our providers and look at factors like where the provider lives, their potential commute, and the culture of the school system to help them find a school where they will be happy. Of course, it goes beyond placement. We maintain close contact with the provider and their school to offer clinical and administrative support. AP is there to solve any issues that can arise in the early months of a new job. Our healthcare providers are also connected to Atlanta Pediatric Therapy and can potentially treat patients at our clinic after school, on weekends and during the summer break. This gives our providers access to additional experience encompassing a wider variety of ages and diagnosis.
Applied Pediatrics provides qualified professionals for Special Education and ESE Departments in school systems throughout the Southeast.
